Born in New Jersey and residing in Wakefield, Richard plays both double and electric bass and has done with a variety of performers and artists. Richard studied at Wakefield's college and also holds a Masters for research.

 

To name a few artists other than Jane, Gary Barlow, Tony Hadley and Alexander O'Neil as well as many more great names!

 

Richard is currently teaching bass at both a Degree and Masters Level at The Royal Northern College of Music and for The Pop Music Degree Course at Huddersfield University. In the past he has also taught at Leeds College Of Music, Hull College, Leeds University and Wakefield College.

 

Richard has been a member of the Jane MCDonald band since 2013 when she returned to touring and has been a valued member ever since. Even being Jane's Musical Director at one point! 

In the past he has described himself as very 'left handed' and now only plays left-handed instruments as a preference!

 

When he's not playing and teaching he is usually cooking up something yummy and will showcase his culinary talents over on Instagram!
